The Tesla Model 3 is still one of the most popular electric vehicles in Australia, according to the sales numbers for the month of February 2023, which was the most recent data available.

On the list of all models of vehicles that were sold in the country, the Tesla Model 3 finished in third place, moving it up one spot from its previous position. The previous month’s sales leader was the Ford Ranger, which racked up 4,473 units, followed by the Toyota Hi-Lux, which racked up 3,939 units sold.

The Tesla Model 3 came in third place on Australia’s list of the top 10 models from the beginning of 2023 up to the present day, with a total of 5,598 units sold during that time period.

The numbers on automotive sales in Australia for the month of February 2023 were only recently made public by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI). These figures were only just recently made public. The delivery of a total of around 86,878 vehicles occurred during the month of February 2023, which represents a 1.8% increase in comparison to the same time period the year before.

During the month of February 2023, 86,878 vehicles were delivered, of which 13,9% were either zero-emission or low-emission models. Hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) were all included in this group of automobiles. In addition, the FCAI discovered that there was a rise in the number of sales of battery electric cars in Australia during the month before to this one. There were 5,932 sales of BEVs in February, which represented 6.8% of the total sales of automobiles with zero to low emissions.

“Increasing sales of electric vehicles prove that wherever there is an electric battery product that suits the driving habits, needs, and finances of Australian motorists, they will purchase these vehicles,” Weber added further. “These sales prove that the demand for electric vehicles will continue to grow in the future.” These sales are evidence that electric cars are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

According to The Driven, Tesla was able to sell around 3,516 electric vehicles throughout the course of the preceding month. It was calculated that Tesla’s sales accounted for sixty percent of the whole market for EVs in February of 2023.
