The Tesla Model 3 is still one of the most popular electric vehicles in Australia, according to the sales numbers for the month of February 2023, which was the most recent data available.

Tesla dominated the market for the sale of electric cars in Australia throughout the course of the last month, selling around 2,671 Model 3 cars. On the list of all models of vehicles that were sold in the country, the Tesla Model 3 finished in third place, moving it up one spot from its previous position. The previous month’s sales leader was the Ford Ranger, which racked up 4,473 units, followed by the Toyota Hi-Lux, which racked up 3,939 units sold. 

The Tesla Model 3 came in third place on Australia’s list of the top 10 models from the beginning of 2023 up to the present day, with a total of 5,598 units sold during that time period. 

The numbers on automotive sales in Australia for the month of February 2023 were only recently made public by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI). According to The Driven, Tesla was able to sell around 3,516 electric vehicles throughout the course of the preceding month. It was calculated that Tesla’s sales accounted for sixty percent of the whole market for EVs in February of 2023.
